Last month I had the pleasure of touring several Disney Resorts. I loved getting to see a side-by-side comparison of each resort and what unique experience each one has to offer. I love getting to know my clients and understand what type of vacation experience they want and then creating that for them. Each week I plan to feature a different resort. For our first “Resort Spotlight” I think it would be fitting to start with the first resort opened at Walt Disney World: Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Boasting a modern and sleek A-frame design, The Contemporary Resort is located on beautiful Bay Lake. Perhaps the most distinguishing feature is Disney’s own monorail which runs right through the center of the main tower. You can ride the monorail to zip over to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. The Contemporary is also a quick and easy walk to the main gates of the Magic Kingdom. For a relaxing ride, you can also take the ferry to the Magic Kingdom and other resorts on Bay Lake. Super convenient!

As one of Disney’s Deluxe category resorts, the Contemporary features many dining options. Choose from quick service dining at the Contempo Café with a view of the monorail gliding by overhead, fun and entertaining character dining with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey’s, five bars and lounges from poolside to lake view, sample fresh and organic dishes at The Wave, or for a true culinary experience dine at the California Grill: Travel to the 15th floor of the resort where you will enjoy spectacular views of Cinderella’s Castle while experiencing the sights, sounds, and flavors of fresh Californian cuisine. The restaurant also features over 300 hand selected wines.
After a day in the parks, head back to your resort to lounge or play in one of the resort’s two pools. Kids can ride the 17 foot waterslide or splash in the water playground at the Main pool. For a more relaxing time, lounge at the quiet Bay Pool on the shores of Bay Lake. If you’re looking for even more to do, choose from one of the many other activities offered: yoga on the lawn, pool cabana rentals, motorized boat rentals, fishing, campfires and movies under the stars, tennis, volleyball, jogging trails, and an arcade just to name a few options!

Rooms and suites are located in the main tower or in the garden wing. You can also pamper yourself and upgrade to club level service where you will receive exclusive access to the club level lounge and other signature services. The Tower Theme Park view rooms are really the star at this resort. The large rooms are sleek and sophisticated. In this particular room you can accommodate five people in two queen beds and a daybed.

The large balcony has a perfect view of Cinderella’s Castle. At night, you have a perfect view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and can even pipe the music into your room! Imagine sitting on your balcony or even laying in bed in the comfort of your room, while watching the most magical fireworks explode over the night sky. Top it off with your favorite drink and dessert and it really doesn’t get much better than that!

If you are travelling with a larger party or simply want more space and the conveniences of home, simply cross the Sky Way Bridge and stay at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

This luxurious lakeside resort offers all the same conveniences and amenities as the Contemporary while accommodating guests in Deluxe Studios up to 3 bedroom Grand Villas sleeping up to 12 guests.
The villas feature a fully equipped kitchen, multiple bathrooms, washer and dryer, and a private porch or balcony. They are tastefully decorated and offer plenty of space for comfortably travelling with a large party. The Villas at Bay Lake Tower offer multiple views from standard to theme park, and also have the option to upgrade to club level.
